Description
Following siblings Marie-Ange and Jean-Noel Schoudler, this gripping family saga is set in Paris at the dawn of World War II. The brother and sister debut in society the same day their grandmother dies; meet old acquaintances of the family, including minister Simon Lachaume and poet Ines Sandoval; and befriend unique characters such as Lord Pemrose, who introduces them to the decadent circles of the international jet-set. Reflecting on the degeneration of the social class that had hitherto governed the destinies of France, this work masterfully portrays the progressive decline in Parisian society.
